I've never been a fan of Strack & Van Til for several reasons, including high prices and customer service. Today was no exception. I did not come across one single friendly employee. And when I asked at the service desk if they could tell me where ice cube trays were, the lady looked at me like I was stupid and said "the baking aisle?" I explained they weren't there and asked if there was anywhere else in the store they would be. she just shrugged and said "I don't know" and turned away. I also got a good laugh over a "clearance" item. There was a big sign saying that ground turkey was on clearance for $2.99 which is not even a good deal. But the funny part was the regular price was $2.99 . And of course the item that's on sale that I go for is out...
Great selections of in-store baked goods and cooked foods with some made to order as you wait. Good place to grab a healthy lunch to go.
This is my favorite grocery store and is also where I get my go-to sushi when I don't feel like making it myself, on Wednesday you can find it for $5! Everything is so clean and everyone is very friendly! Check the expiration dates though on more than one occasion I've bought expired items. Also when you request a specific item they don't carry keep on em because they usually don't follow through with ordering it if you don't.
Wide variety of goods on offer and fair prices in produce and deli. Soda, milk and some other things are best bought on sale. This is one of my weekly shopping destinations!
